Unwind in style: Sauna as a part of the garden
May 24, 2023
The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Chelsea Flower Show 2023 commenced on Monday 22nd and will continue until Saturday 27th of May. As featured for the first time in the beautiful garden design “Finnish Soul Garden” by Taina Suonio in the 2021 exhibit, a sauna can make a beautiful addition to the garden.

An all-round wellness experience
Immersing oneself in the beauty of a garden whilst enjoying the therapeutic benefits of a soft and humid steam in a sauna can bring an overall enhanced well-being experience for the body and mind. The versatility of saunas allows for seamless integration with the surrounding garden, whether built into an existing shed, garage or as a stand-alone modular or barrel sauna. Fusing a sauna into the garden creates a truly authentic relaxation experience.
A beautiful view can be enjoyed from inside the sauna through large windows.
Gardens are recognised for promoting relaxation and alleviating stress. Likewise, sauna bathing can offer similar researched and self-reported health benefits. This makes saunas and gardens the perfect combination for unwinding from a hectic lifestyle. A garden sauna can serve as a quiet outdoor space to step away from daily stresses, whilst offering a multitude of benefits from supporting cardiovascular health to improved sleep.
Transforming outdoor spaces for saunas
Gardens and outdoor spaces can be adapted to accommodate an authentic sauna in a variety of different ways. Whether it is through repurposing existing garden structures, installing charming log cabins, barrel saunas or by designing a high-end wellness area with a shower and changing area and a cold plunge pool, the integration of garden saunas can seamlessly blend with the overall aesthetic, adding a touch of luxury and rejuvenation.
