The Session
Our CPD session explores the key technical considerations involved in specifying a sauna to professional standards, including:
Computational Volume: Calculating the appropriate heater output based on room dimensions, glazing and insulation.
Wall Construction: Understanding correct wall build-up, including fire-rated boards, sauna-safe insulation, vapour sealing and cladding.
Bench Design: Planning dimensions, seating heights and access for comfort and effective heat distribution.
Materials & Heating: Selecting suitable timber and heaters with sufficient stone capacity for an authentic sauna experience.
With sauna installation unregulated in the UK, Finnmark follows Finnish building standards to prioritise safety, durability and performance. Drawing on our specialist expertise, the session provides practical guidance to help professionals confidently specify sauna spaces.
The Outcome
Working with Finnmarks expert design team we will produce a 'Design Document' for your client including 3D replica models of the sauna, lighting models and CAD drawings highlighting key measurements and M&E locations. This pack can then be presented to their client along with any submission of plans and ideas.
