Which sauna wood bench boards are available on the Finnmark webshop?

When searching for timber for your sauna benches, you can often be left wondering “What wood types can you use for your sauna benches?”. The answer to this is very similar to cladding. You want to use hard-softwoods that are generally resilient, yet not too dense. The higher the density, the hotter it would feel when sitting on the benches. This is why low density timber types like Western Red Cedar are far more preferable than hardwoods like Oak, Ash and Beech. Sitting on these would feel as hot as steel in a sauna!

What sauna wood bench profiles and what sizes of sauna bench boards do Finnmark sell?

SHP profile is the standard timber profile for sauna bench boards. This is generally a rectangular profile with radiused corners, usually R2 or R3 (2mm or 3mm radiuses on each corner). As standard, we warehouse:

The thickness of the bench boards is important to prevent warping and twisting over time. Finnmark generally only work with 28mm thick as a standard for the most resilient sauna benching timber, in all but Western Red Cedar which is 26mm thick.
