Indoor Sauna FAQ's
What size is an indoor sauna?
Our indoor sauna range is built around a compact 2 person indoor sauna format, including the Indoor Cube Sauna and Indoor Cube Sauna in Black. Both models share the same footprint of 145cm x 133cm and a height of 221cm, requiring a minimum ceiling height of 230cm for installation.
Designed as a small indoor sauna for home use, the Cube is ideal for UK properties where space efficiency is essential. It suits bathrooms, bedrooms, basements, and dedicated wellness rooms.
This compact design offers faster heat-up times, lower energy usage, and simpler installation compared to larger sauna cabins. Larger models are not currently part of our indoor sauna UK range, though our outdoor sauna collection includes larger capacities.
Where to put an indoor sauna?
In most cases, an indoor home sauna can be installed in any room, but there are some key factors to consider beforehand: these include ventilation, space, flooring, and electrical access. Good ventilation is essential to prevent excess humidity and moisture buildup.
In terms of space, your chosen room should accommodate the sauna's size with extra clearance for access and safety. Flooring should be waterproof and heat-resistant; tiles or sealed concrete work best, while carpet or laminate should be avoided. You'll also need appropriate electrical access. Electric sauna heaters require a dedicated power supply, which will need to be installed by a qualified electrician.
Popular locations include basements, large bathrooms, utility rooms, or converted wellness spaces. With the right preparation, a small indoor sauna can be a seamless addition to your home, bringing all the wellness benefits of heat therapy into your everyday routine.
How do I maintain or clean my indoor home sauna?
Maintaining your indoor sauna is simple with regular care. After each use, allow the sauna to cool and ventilate, then wipe benches and surfaces with a damp cloth.
Avoid harsh chemicals and use mild, sauna-safe cleaning products. Towels and seat covers can also be used to reduce direct contact between the timber and natural body oils and sweat, helping to minimise cleaning requirements and keep the wood in good condition.
Weekly, remove and clean accessories such as buckets, ladles, or diffusers with warm water, and keep the sauna floor free from dust and debris. Regular maintenance helps preserve hygiene, heat performance, and the long-term condition of the timber.

What are the benefits of having an indoor sauna at home?
Indoor home saunas offer year-round heat therapy and wellness benefits regardless of the weather. Regular sauna use supports cardiovascular health, aids muscle recovery, promotes deep relaxation, and improves sleep quality.
The convenience of an indoor sauna in the UK means you can incorporate daily sauna sessions into your routine without stepping outside, particularly valuable during winter months. Traditional indoor saunas maintain consistent temperature control, require no outdoor space, and add to overall property value. With proper ventilation, an indoor sauna creates a dedicated wellness retreat that enhances both physical recovery and mental well-being, making it an investment in long-term health.
How much is an indoor sauna in the UK?
The cost of an indoor sauna depends on the model, finish and specification you choose. All of our indoor saunas are supplied as complete two-person kits, including the sauna, benching, glass door and sauna heater, offering a cost-effective alternative to bespoke indoor sauna installations.
What is the best indoor sauna?
For most British homes, our Indoor Cube Sauna is the strongest option on the market. Its curved square design distributes heat more evenly than a traditional indoor sauna and warms up faster, all within a compact 2 person indoor sauna footprint of 145cm x 133cm. Both finishes are crafted in Estonia from 40mm thermally modified spruce, with two-tier aspen benches and 8mm tempered glass throughout. The natural Thermo Wood version suits warm, contemporary interiors, while the black version creates a more dramatic spa-like atmosphere.
Can you put an indoor sauna in a garage?
A garage is one of the more popular locations for an indoor sauna for home installation, and our Indoor Cube Sauna is well-suited to the conversion. The practical requirements are a minimum ceiling height of 230cm, a level and waterproof floor (the existing concrete slab is usually ideal), a footprint of at least 175cm x 165cm to allow the 150mm clearance the sauna needs on each side, and a dedicated electrical supply installed by a qualified electrician. Adequate ventilation is essential, either a window, an air vent or a mechanical extractor to remove humidity after each session and protect the surrounding structure. If you would like us to confirm the space will work before you order, our sauna experts are happy to talk it through.
Are indoor saunas safe?
Yes, when properly installed and maintained. Our Indoor Sauna is built in Estonia to authentic indoor sauna construction standards, with thermally modified 40mm spruce, two-tier aspen benches, 8mm tempered glass and a matched heater package. The heater must be hardwired to a dedicated circuit by a qualified electrician, as the 6kW load is not safe to run through a standard socket. Proper ventilation is the other essential factor, ensuring fresh air during sessions and complete drying afterwards. With these elements in place, an indoor sauna is no more risky than any other electrical appliance in the home, and the construction is engineered to handle decades of regular use.
Can mould grow or spread within my indoor sauna?
Not when designed and operated correctly, and our 2 person Indoor Sauna Cube is built specifically to prevent it. Each cube uses thermally modified timber and passive ventilation to help manage moisture from the inside out. The single most important habit on your side is drying the sauna after every session: leave the door and vents open until the timber is completely dry, never close the cabin while surfaces still feel damp, and remove towels and accessories rather than leaving them inside. Our Sauna Cleaning collection includes specialist products to help keep the timber in pristine condition, and our Complete Guide to Cleaning Your Sauna covers the full routine.
