Thermory's dark thermo alder bench boards bring a deep chocolate brown colour and a strong, toasted scent to the sauna bench. That character comes from intense, fully natural thermal modification, which makes this a premium timber: durable, stable and easy to keep clean. Each pack contains four boards in the SHP profile, 27 × 115 mm with smoothly radiused R3 corners, in a choice of 1800 mm, 2100 mm or 2400 mm lengths. The boards are well suited to a DIY bench build, or our bench fabrication service can craft them into a complete sauna bench system.

Timber
Dark thermo alder has a striking dark chocolate brown colour and a strong, toasted scent, the result of intense, fully natural thermal modification. It is a premium timber: elegant, easy to keep clean and well suited to saunas with a contemporary look. As a natural product, timber shows some colour variation between packs and batches.
Profile
SHP is the standard profile for sauna bench boards: a rectangular section with radiused corners, usually R2, R3 or R4 (a 2 mm, 3 mm or 4 mm radius on each edge). These boards are finished with an R3 edge. The 27 mm thickness is important, helping to prevent warping and twisting over time.
Quality & Wastage
Our dark thermo alder timber is A-grade: durable, knot free and with a low risk of splintering. We recommend a wastage allowance of 20–25% for these bench boards, which also covers the risk of damage in transit.
