Description
Thermory's thermo spruce STP cladding dresses sauna walls and ceilings in a warm golden-brown, the result of a chemical-free heat treatment that makes the wood more durable and removes its resin, so there is no risk of weeping from the knots. The boards are 15 mm thick and 90 mm wide with an 80 mm effective width, and the STP profile's narrow grooves and rounded edges give a soft, refined surface once fitted. Grooves on the reverse of each board let condensed steam run down and drain to the floor, and the profile combines well with our other cladding styles where contrast is wanted. Each pack contains six tongue and groove boards, in 2100 mm or 2400 mm lengths.

Timber
Thermo spruce takes on its charming golden-brown tone through the heat treatment of natural spruce. The process makes the wood more durable and removes its resin, so there is no risk of weeping from the knots. Brushed, it develops an aged wood effect that suits a rustic interior.
Profile
The STP profile presents an elegant wall surface with narrow gaps between boards; its rounded front edges read softer than our Kallio or STS4 profiles. Grooves on the reverse of each panel allow condensed steam to run down and drain to the floor, and STP boards can be combined with other profiles to create contrast in the space.
Quality & Wastage
This is A-grade timber, durable with a low risk of splintering. We recommend a wastage allowance of 20% for thermo spruce cladding, which also covers the risk of minor damage in transit. As a natural product, timber shows some colour variation between packs and batches; our interactive Cladding Calculator can help you estimate quantities, and our team can advise if you are unsure how much you need.
Installation & Care
An Installation and Maintenance Guide for our sauna wood cladding is available under the Downloadable Files tab. The tongue and groove boards are straightforward to fit, which makes them well suited to DIY sauna projects, and the cladding is also suitable for other interior finishes.
Brand
Thermory, founded in Estonia in 1997, is the largest manufacturer of thermally modified wood in the world; its chemical-free, heat-treated timber is complemented by a wide range of untreated sauna woods.
