Description
The alder T cover moulding joins shorter lengths of wall and ceiling cladding, extending runs where sufficiently long timber cannot be supplied or simply making a build more economical. Its rounded front edges and slim visible face keep it discreet in the finished room, though it can equally introduce a line of deliberate visual contrast. That makes it especially useful in large or commercial saunas and wellness suites, and a cost-effective choice for standard rooms too. Cut from alder, it carries a light brown colour with warm pink undertones, a low risk of twisting or warping, and a subtle scent of freshly cut hay. Each pack contains two A-grade lengths, 17 mm thick and 32 mm wide, in a choice of 2100 mm or 2400 mm.

Timber
Alder is a popular choice in traditional saunas thanks to its natural qualities and low risk of twisting and warping. It has a light brown colour with warm pink undertones and a subtle scent resembling freshly cut hay. Alder does not overheat and has water repellent properties, making it well suited to hot and humid environments.
Profile
The T moulding's primary function is to extend the lengths of wall and ceiling cladding, which makes it particularly useful in large or commercial saunas and wellness suites where sufficiently long timber cannot be supplied. For standard size saunas it can be cost-effective to join shorter lengths. The visible part is thinner than most other mouldings, so it stays unobtrusive, and mouldings like this are an important finishing touch in any DIY sauna build.
Quality & wastage
Our alder sauna timber is A-grade: durable, knot-free and with a low risk of splintering. We recommend a wastage allowance of 15%, which also accounts for any risk of damage in transit.
Ordering & delivery
Timber orders typically travel on a palletised service with kerbside delivery, and costs vary with size, quantity and postcode. We usually ship lengths up to 2400 mm; where you need a shorter length than we stock, our cutting service can cut a longer board down for a small fee, with the off-cut added to the pallet. For advice on quantities, longer lengths or the cutting service, call +44 (0) 20 8050 2895 or email support@finnmarksauna.com.
