Aluminium Foil Vapour Barrier (Paper-Backed, 24m) by Finnmark Sauna

Finnmark's PE-aluminium, paper-backed vapour foil is a vapour barrier impermeable to water vapour. Vapour barriers protect your walls from absorbing moisture from your sauna. Although steam in the sauna is great to help bring on a sweat, it also creates humidity that should not seep into the walls. 

An interior barrier, such as aluminium paper-backed barrier, used in moisture-rich areas prevents excess moisture from entering internal structures and insulation. It also helps to keep the sauna warm and energy efficient by preventing heat loss through the walls. 

The aluminium foil covers an area of 30m² and features a laminated rear side made of paper with PE, which is very tear resistant.

Installation

• Staple the foil vapour barrier to all interior surfaces; the wall and ceiling, not the floor.
• Start with the ceiling then the walls. Attachment is done along the frame by stapling or nailing to the frame.
• Ensure the edges of each sheet overlap by at least 75mm / 3".
• Seams, overlaps, fixings and penetrations should be sealed with specialist aluminium foil vapour tape to ensure air-tightness.
