Description
Finnmark Sauna's aspen STP cladding is a refined choice for the walls and ceiling of a sauna, milled from the lightest of our sauna timbers with a uniform, straight grain and few to no knots. The tongue and groove boards are simple to fit, and the profile's narrow grooves and rounded edges give the finished surface a soft, even appearance. Grooves on the back of each board let condensed steam run down and drain to the floor. Each pack contains six boards at 15 × 90 mm, giving an effective width of 80 mm, in 2100 mm or 2400 mm lengths. Aspen does not weep resin, and the STP profile pairs well with our other cladding profiles where you want contrast within the same space.

Timber
Aspen is the lightest sauna timber we offer, with a uniform, straight grain and few to no knots. Its colour ranges from light brown to nearly white, and it does not weep resin, which is one reason for its popularity in home saunas. For a bolder scheme, aspen mixes well with a darker timber.
Profile
The STP tongue and groove profile has narrow grooves between boards and rounded front edges, giving a softer appearance than the more angular Kallio or STS4 profiles. Grooves on the back of each board allow condensed steam to run down and drain to the floor. STP combines readily with our other cladding profiles where you want contrast within the same space.
Quality & Wastage
This aspen cladding is A-grade: durable, knot-free and with a low risk of splintering. We recommend a wastage allowance of 15%, which also covers any damage that can occur in transit. As a natural product, timber shows some colour variation between packs and batches, and the general sauna wood grading standards apply.
Installation & Care

Ordering & Delivery
Timber orders travel on a palletised service and may require a kerbside drop; shipping costs vary with order size and between UK Mainland, Highland and Island postcodes, and are calculated at checkout. We normally ship lengths up to 2400 mm, as longer lengths cost significantly more to send. If we do not stock your required length, our cutting service can trim a longer board down for a small fee: you purchase the full length and the off-cut travels on the pallet.
