Finnmark Sauna's aspen STS4 cladding is a durable, sustainable choice for the walls and ceiling of a sauna. The profile takes its name from the 4 mm gap between boards: slim, angular grooves that suit a modern interior where a symmetrical, strong aesthetic is wanted. Aspen is the lightest of our sauna timbers, with a uniform, straight grain, few to no knots and no weeping resin. Each pack contains six boards at 15 × 120 mm, giving an effective width of 110 mm, in 2100 mm or 2400 mm lengths. STS4 combines readily with our other cladding profiles where you want contrast within the same space.

Timber
Aspen is the lightest sauna timber we offer, with a uniform, straight grain and few to no knots. Its colour ranges from light brown to nearly white, and it does not weep resin, which is one reason for its popularity in home saunas. For a bolder scheme, aspen mixes well with a darker timber.
Profile
The STS4 profile takes its name from the 4 mm gap between boards. Its slim, angular grooves suit a modern sauna where a symmetrical, strong aesthetic is wanted, and the profile is a popular choice in contemporary interiors. STS4 combines readily with our other cladding profiles for contrast within the same space.
Quality & Wastage
This aspen cladding is A-grade: durable, knot-free and with a low risk of splintering. We recommend a wastage allowance of 15%, which also covers any damage that can occur in transit. As a natural product, timber shows some colour variation between packs and batches, and the general sauna wood grading standards apply.

Ordering & Delivery
Timber orders travel on a palletised service and may require a kerbside drop; shipping costs vary with order size and between UK Mainland, Highland and Island postcodes, and are calculated at checkout. We normally ship lengths up to 2400 mm, as longer lengths cost significantly more to send. If we do not stock your required length, our cutting service can trim a longer board down for a small fee: you purchase the full length and the off-cut travels on the pallet.
