STS3 Respect is a modern sauna cladding with an unusually intelligent construction: a 2 mm face of high-quality thermo aspen over a lamellar core made from production by-products, which improves stability, extends the lifespan of the raw material and allows dimensions traditional manufacturing cannot achieve. Its distinctive narrow square grooves integrate seamlessly with other cladding profiles, opening up striking design contrasts within the same interior. Each pack contains six panels measuring 15 mm thick by 120 mm wide, with a 110 mm effective width, in 2400 mm or 2100 mm lengths. Well suited to DIY projects, the boards can be finished with paraffin oil, which slightly deepens the colour of the wood.

Timber
Thermo aspen is created by heat-treating soft timber. The treatment reduces the moisture content of the wood, giving it a tough, rot-resistant structure that does not secrete resin in the high temperatures and humidity of a sauna. The grain is straight and knot-free, the scent pleasantly toasted and the colour a warm honey-brown. As a natural product, timber shows some colour variation between packs and batches.

The STS3 Respect profile pairs a premium thermo aspen face with a lamellar structure that enhances stability and significantly extends the lifespan of the raw material, without compromising durability or finish. The design allows a more flexible range of dimensions than traditional manufacturing techniques, and the narrow square grooves let the profile sit seamlessly alongside other claddings for customisable sauna interiors.
Quality and wastage
This timber is A-grade quality, characterised by durability and a low risk of splintering. We recommend a wastage allowance of 15%, which also accounts for the risk of damage in transit. General sauna wood grading standards apply; see the grading rules for different sauna wood types on finnmarksauna.com. Timber is a natural product and no two pieces are exactly alike: colour, grain and texture vary from board to board, pack to pack and season to season, and this timber may present a slightly darker tone. To keep a consistent appearance, avoid mixing timber from different sources; if a close colour match is essential, we strongly recommend bringing a sample and collecting the material in person. Ordering and delivery
Timber orders are typically shipped on a palletised service and may require a kerbside drop or handballing off the vehicle; shipping is calculated at checkout and differs between UK Mainland, Highland and Island postcodes. Lengths of up to 2400 mm ship at standard rates, while longer lengths cost significantly more. If you need a shorter length than we stock, our cutting service can trim a longer board to size for a small fee, with the off-cut added to the pallet.
