Description
The SI 25 × 25 mm moulding is a corner trim that brings a smooth, resolved finish to the inside of a sauna. Fixed into the corners of the room and around the edges of the ceiling, its inward-facing edges sit neatly on the cladding face and cover any gaps left where the panels meet the corner. It is cut from thermo aspen, a heat-treated timber that stays tough and rot resistant in sauna conditions and does not secrete resin, with a straight, knot-free grain, a honey-brown colour and a gentle toasted scent. This listing is for a single 2400 mm length.

Profile
The SI moulding is fixed into the corners of the sauna space, around the edges of the ceiling and where the walls meet. It sits neatly on the cladding face and covers any gaps between the cladding panels and the corner of the room. Corner mouldings are often overlooked in DIY projects, but they are an important finishing touch in any sauna build; our guide to sauna corner mouldings and edge trims on finnmarksauna.com compares the options.
Timber
Thermo aspen is created by heat-treating soft timber. The treatment reduces the moisture level of the wood, giving it a tough, rot-resistant structure that does not secrete resin in the high temperatures and moisture-rich environment of a sauna. The grain is straight and knot free, with a honey-brown colouration and a pleasant, toasted scent, making it an easy timber to keep looking its best.
Quality & Wastage
Our thermo aspen timber is A-grade: durable, knot free and at low risk of splintering. We recommend a wastage allowance of 15% for thermo aspen mouldings, which also covers any risk of damage in transit. Expect some natural variation in colour from length to length.
Ordering & Delivery
Timber orders travel on a palletised service, may be delivered kerbside and are priced at checkout; costs differ between UK Mainland, Highland and Island postcodes. We ship lengths of up to 2400 mm; where longer stock exists, our cutting service can bring it down to size for a small fee, with the off-cut added to the pallet. For sizes, quantities or cutting, call +44 (0) 20 8050 2895 or email support@finnmarksauna.com.
