Description
Thermory's SHP bench boards in thermo radiata pine build sauna seating with a deep brown tone and a distinctive striped grain. SHP is the standard profile for bench boards: a rectangular section with radiused corners, cut at a full 26 mm thickness to resist warping and twisting over time. The timber has very few to no knots and releases no resin in the heat, so it stays comfortable to lean against. Each pack contains four boards at 26 × 92 mm in 2100 mm or 2400 mm lengths, well suited to a DIY build; for a made-to-measure seat, our bench fabrication service can create the complete system for you.

Timber
Thermo radiata pine is a dark brown timber with very few to no knots and a unique striped grain, well suited to rooms where a darker aesthetic is wanted. It does not secrete resin when hot, so it is comfortable to lean against, and its low-density structure resists splitting and splintering, making it a strong choice for sauna walls and ceilings.
Profile
SHP is the standard timber profile for sauna bench boards: a rectangular section with radiused corners, usually R2, R3 or R4 (a 2 mm, 3 mm or 4 mm radius on each corner). The radius value describes the smoothness of the board edge, and the 26 mm thickness is important to prevent warping and twisting over time.
Quality & Wastage
Our thermo radiata sauna timber is A-grade: durable, largely knot free and with a low risk of splintering. We recommend a wastage allowance of 20%, which also covers any risk of damage in transit. As a natural product, timber shows some colour variation between packs and batches. Ordering & Delivery
Timber orders ship on a palletised service because of their size and length, with costs calculated at checkout; rates differ between UK Mainland, Highland and Island postcodes, and delivery may be a kerbside drop requiring goods to be handballed off the vehicle. We normally ship lengths of up to 2400 mm; longer lengths increase shipping costs significantly. If we do not stock the length you need but hold a longer one, our cutting service can cut it down for a small fee: you purchase the full length and the off-cut travels on the pallet.
